Meet me: Mike Stamp

Mike Stamp is a Solicitor and has worked in policing since 1996. He is a Chief Officer in Devon and Cornwall and Dorset Police working across the Strategic Alliance between the two Forces.

Mike has been a supporter of Surfwell since its inception. When the programme was delivered as an in-house project within Devon and Cornwall Police Mike was the Executive sponsor.

His commitment to the programme comes from a long-term understanding of the significant trauma Police officers and Police staff are exposed to as part of their daily working lives and the impact that this can have on their wellbeing. Mike is a strong proponent of the Surfwell intervention and as a Instructor of the Resilience team has witnessed first-hand how Surfwell can have a transformational effect on members of the policing family and other blue light organisations.

Mike has been a lover of the ocean since he learnt to swim at the age of three. Mike continues to swim everyday and regards the cold water as a means of managing the pressures and strains of a very busy professional life.

Mike has been surfing since he was a teenager and is fully committed to the effects that surfing can have on mind and body. He is honoured and privileged to continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director to the Programme and support it in its next embodiment.
